The Word Family is very involved in the community, especially the political community.

C.K. Word, Sr. founded Meridian Abstract & Title Company in 1929, but began abstracting titles as an attorney many, many years prior to that. Our title plant dates back to Sovereignty, the State of Texas original land grants in and around 1836. In connection with our records, we also have a vast number of Plats and Maps of Bosque County, many of which the Courthouse does not have.

The Word family has a vested interest in Bosque County and the State of Texas; no fewer than FIVE past Bosque County Judges, a State Representative in the House and a Senator, have come from the Word family. Currently, owner Cole Word is serving as Bosque County Judge, while Sonja Word manages Meridian Abstract & Title.
